What is Nanotek®?
The Nanotek® paint protection film creates a crystal clear invisible barrier between the surface and the everyday rigours of the outside world. As a result, the underlying surface remains in as new condition for years, as if the vehicle had just left the showroom. It prevents scratches and swirls in the paint when the vehicle is washed and has a higher gloss level than the paint.
This makes it virtually invisible. Whilst stone chips and scratches cannot damage the paint – and that is what matters. Nanotek® is resilient and dampens any impact on the paint from the likes of stones and gravel, branches and desert sand. 90% of everyday damage to paints is prevented with Nanotek®.
What does Paint Protection Film protect?
Paint Protection Film provides protection from rock chips, minor scratches, harmful effects of chemicals, bird droppings, and other roadway hazards.
Paint Protection Film is not designed to stop or prevent heavy impact damage to the vehicle body. Most films have a self-healing top layer which is designed to repair itself from swirl marks and light scratches. However, if a piece of debris penetrates this layer of the film, the self-healing property will no longer function.
You can have your car repaired and repainted because you had stone chips. However, the originality has now gone – plus the integrity of the vehicle is now in doubt – was it just stone chips or a larger accident? For the same cost, you could have had Nanotek® installed and enjoy driving carefree, without any potential paint damage now or in the future! The vehicle will command a higher value during trade-in or resale.
How do I maintain Paint Protection Film?
Caring for your Nanotek PPF is easy.
To keep the car looking new and easier to clean we recommend using a Ph neutral shampoo for washing your vehicle, as well as non abrasive spray wax every 3 months.
Please see Film Care instructions on the warranty page for additional recommendations.
Does the film affect the look of the paint?
Can wax be applied to Paint Protection Film?
Yes, you can simply wash and wax your car, however we do recommend some small changes to your washing routine to ensure the longevity of your film (see our Film Care advice on the Warranty page).
Can ceramic coatings be applied to Paint Protection Film?
While coatings can be applied to Paint Protection Film, it typically is not necessary and can provide a wide variety of results.

What is Pre-Cut Paint Protection Film?
Our design team works tirelessly to provide patterns for most make and models of vehicles. The film is cut using the pattern specific to your vehicle for a much more consistent fitting. This helps reduce the risk of “cutting” on the car with a sharp blade.
If your certified installer can not find a pattern they need, just email us at info@nanotekppf.com to let us know the details – we’re always happy to add a new pattern to our portfolio.
What parts of the car can Paint Protection Film be applied to?
Paint Protection Film can be applied to areas of the vehicle that have been professionally painted.
These areas include but are not limited to bumpers, fenders, hood/bonnet, mirrors, doors, roof, and trunk/boot.
How do you maintain the film once applied?
See our in-depth After Care advice on the Warranty page for ways to maintain paint protection film.

What about paint fading under the sun?
Yes. Every paint does that. Nanotek® is UV stable and will not discolor, but the UV radiation is transmitted allowing the paint to age at the same rate under the film as those areas which remain unprotected.
